Design to Awaken a collective consciousness

Hello I'm Mar!

Today I wanted to blog about how we as designers can help to wake up the collective consciousness.

I know, design may sound frivolous, the designer sold their soul to sell their art to cold corporations. But the truth is, we can also help companies to express their attributes while they create a positive impact in the communities that surround them.

One of the reasons we decided to create a design company was because working for big establishments never filled my heart. Corporations that make millions of dollars, destroy their surroundings and encourage and create desinformation, segregation, unhealthy professional environments.

We as designers can make these products cool, trendy and desirable. But in the end, all they sell you is the same junk with minor changes, over and over again, and call it "the next innovation that will revolutionize the way you do things today".

I got tired of the hamster wheel. Earning money without a purpose just wasn't enough. I needed something to believe in.

What was I doing to create a positive impact on my people? on my surroundings? For my environment?

Therefore, I created a sustainable fashion design company that based its production on scraps of fabric and employed, in its majority, women with a child that presented special conditions: Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, etc. As well as hiring young adults with special conditions to create the art of our seasonal prints, empowering them through their art in textile design.

Needless to say, things were difficult, and COVID hit us hard when the world closed around us.

So after traveling around America, I went back to the hamster wheel.

But this time, I couldn't do it the same way. I needed it to change. I needed to break free (🎵Freddie Mercury Break Free🎵 in the background).

Therefore I left my job at a multinational tech company and created C' est Moi, and made our purpose as a start-up to create conscious designs for companies that help impact their communities for the better.

Looking to reach all the small and medium size businesses that through their labor help their communities: Therapists, foundations, festivals, cleaning companies, companies that create artisanal and handmade products, bakers, catering businesses, jewelry designers, artists, writers oh bouy all these beautiful makers that deserve a fantastic brand that takes them to another level.

In our work throughout this website, you'll find designs that were made only for small and medium independent companies and start-ups, designs that helped people, that had a purpose and were made with a conscious mind.

We are in an unprecedented moment in history where we have the chance to impart consciousness, wake up all those sleeping souls and break free. Abundance and sustainability are attainable and we're here to help you achieve it.
